I set up and maintain monitoring stacks across Kubernetes and VMs alike - the infrastructure that keeps watch over everything else.
I write the scripts and plugins that fill the gaps off-the-shelf tools miss.
I lean on tools like Zabbix, Grafana, Thanos, Prometheus and lately Mimir to catch problems before they become outages.
By day a sysadmin, by night a developer and tinkerer
I'm a system administrator based in Tallinn, Estonia. I configure monitoring servers and software, and develop scripts to support them.
Since I was young, I've taken an interest in computers and studied how they work. I also played a lot of video games, which got me wondering how they were built, developed and hosted for the whole world to enjoy. That lit the flame in me to pursue a career in IT.
Thanks to my broad interests, I wouldn't settle for just one thing. That's why I love monitoring. It gives me the opportunity to work with both servers and services, learning how they work and how to catch and prevent disasters before they happen. That's only half the story, though - I'm also interested in game development, software development, web development, 3D modeling and computer hardware. I love to tinker around with electronics too.
