Hello! I am Jüri-Johannes Derkun

I'm a system administrator working for Telia, based in Tallinn, Estonia. I mainly configure monitoring servers, monitoring software and develop scripts/software for monitoring.

Since I was young, I took an interest in computers and I studied how they functioned. I also played loads of video-games, where I began to wonder about how were built, developed and hosted for the whole world to enjoy. That lit the flame in me to pursue a career in IT.

Thanks to my broad interests I wouldn't settle for just one thing. That's why I love monitoring. It gives me an oppurtunity to work with both servers and different services, getting to know how they work and how to make sure I can discover and possibly evade disastrous events. But that being only half the story, I take an interest in multiple other areas, such as game-development, software-development, web-development, 3D-modeling and computer hardware. I also love to tinker around with electronics.
